This woolen whale has a relatively dense and smooth surface, due to its pleasant elasticity it keeps its shape well and is durable. It is very suitable for outerwear such as jackets, vests, skirts or coats.
The fabric can be sewn easily and well, the cut edges can be processed open-edged.
Where does the kbT wool come from? The wool comes from happy sheep from a cooperative in Uruguay, which specializes in raising sheep under controlled organic conditions - kbT. This species-appropriate animal husbandry prohibits, for example, the use of genetically modified feed. Pesticides and insecticides are prohibited both for the animals and for the soil on which the animals graze. Tail docking and mulesing are also prohibited. The certification "kbT" is carried out by independent certification bodies.
How and where is the organic wool-walking fabric produced: Only pure new wool from Merino sheep and clear mountain spring water are used. At a temperature of approx. 35°C the wool fabric is tumbled by purely mechanical pressing and rubbing, then dried and ironed. No softeners or chemicals are added. The finished woolen whalecloth is of exceptional density and softness. The production takes place in Austria / Tyrol
Special properties of wool:
many small air chambers form a natural buffer against cold and heat, the skin can breathe freely,
temperature balancing (releases excess heat into the environment),
pure new wool absorbs up to one third of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp,
does not charge electrostatically / magnetically,
hardly attracts dirt and odors
And another "plus" for the environment: wool is biodegradable!
Care: Since the surface of the wool fiber repels dirt, hanging in fresh air is usually enough.
However, if washing is necessary, we recommend hand washing at max. 30°C with a special wool detergent,
(Wool is extremely sensitive to soap!) Avoid soaking, rubbing, wringing or brushing so that the wool does not felt, lightly pressing through with your hand is sufficient.
Taboo are: Drying in the sun, on the heater, in the dryer.
